#CISfball | Not much change in week 5 TOP 10

Le football universitaire sur Accrofoot est une présentation de la fédération des producteurs d’oeufs de consommation du Québec.

McMaster is without a doubt the top team in the country, thanks to QB Kyle Quinlan. Photo: Corey Stanford

1 – McMaster (5-0) : WIN 33-27 vs Western

Big win vs OUA rival Western. They ‘ll stay atop the rankings for as long as Quinlan is at the helm. UP NEXT: at York

2 – Calgary (5-0): WIN 45-4 vs Saskatchewan

Their offense is putting up ridiculous numbers week in and week out. Best in the country? UP NEXT: bye

3 –  Montréal (5-0): WIN 38-0 vs Concordia

Led by the best defensive unit in the country, they are poised to break a 8 year drought at TELUS stadium this sunday. UP NEXT: at Laval

4 -  Laval (5-0): WIN 48-10 vs Sherbrooke

Their 140 points scored in 3 games coincides with the return of Justin Éthier as their offensive coordinator. Carrying a lot of momentum into their back to back matchup vs rival Montreal. UP NEXT: vs Montreal

5 –  Queen’s (4-1) : WIN 32-25 vs Ottawa

They still come up with a win against desperate Ottawa despite a subpar performance by QB Billy McPhee. Solid well rounded team. UP NEXT: at Windsor

6 – Western (3-2): LOSS 33-27 vs McMaster

Best 3-2 team in the country with they’re only 2 losses coming to top 5 teams. How serious is the injury to QB Donnie Marshall? UP NEXT: at Guelph

7 –  Regina (4-1): WIN 30-27 vs Manitoba

They have now beaten every team in their conference besides Calgary which positions them as the clear cut 2nd best team in CanWest. UP NEXT: bye

8 – Guelph (4-1): WIN 22-19 vs Laurier

At 4-1, Guelph is no fluke. We’ll know if they’re for real with matchups vs Queens and Western coming up. UP NEXT: vs Western.

9 –  Manitoba (3-2): LOSS 30-27 vs Regina

Despite falling to both Calgary and Regina, they have proven they can compete against the best. If only they could protect the ball… UP NEXT: bye

10 – Acadia (3-1): WIN 30-6 vs Mount-Allison

In a week where you’d probably have only 9 teams ranked, Acadia comes up as the only logical choice for 10th place. UP NEXT: at St-Fx
